Chelsea and Anthony / Engagement / August 22, 2020

I met Chelsea at Team Playmakers, we bonded over our love of running, and on cold dark mornings when we would run ridiculous distances together, we got to talking about what we do. She found out I was a wedding photographer and she hired me for her wedding in December 2020!

Chelsea and Anthony’s engagement session was one of the best evenings I’ve had in this crazy year. One of the most beautiful things to me is when a couple laughs as hard and as often with each other as Chelsea and Anthony do. These two had me cracking up for the entire session, and it felt more like hanging out and taking photos of friends rather than clients who hired me for a service. They included their sweet puppy Nita in their photos, which added another aspect of unpredictability and candid moments!

These two met playing pickup soccer at Mount Hope Sports Complex when they were both on Team Salmon, and they wanted to wear their team t-shirts as part of their engagement session which added an extra level of adorable to the shoot.

I asked Chelsea how she knew Anthony was the one, and she told me:

“I knew pretty early on! I’ve never felt more like myself with him and we laughed all the time! He made me tacos on our first date, and that helps a lot!”

Rick and Brie / Married / June 27, 2020

On Saturday, June 27, 2020, I got to see a prime example of “love is not cancelled”. Rick and Brie are high school sweethearts and they had been planning their wedding for 2 years. Their thinking was that if they were engaged a little longer, it would be less stressful! Well, as we know, with the global pandemic a lot of wedding plans had to be changed, and Rick and Brie’s wedding was one that had to be changed.

Rick and Brie made the difficult decision to postpone their reception until November 2020, but they still wanted to get married on June 27. They got married at a family church in Fowlerville, Michigan, at St. Agnes Catholic Parish. Their venue was simple, there were no fancy bouquets or boutonnieres, and the only guests attending were their immediate family members. Everyone wore face coverings during the ceremony, and afterward there was a small reception with pizza, cake and breadsticks.

Rick and Brie’s wedding was a perfect example of simplicity and elegance, and a great reminder that at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how many guests attend or how ornate the centerpieces are or how big the dress is. All that matters is that you are marrying the love of your life, and that you have your closest loved ones there to celebrate with you. It was an amazing day filled with love and while I’m sure a global pandemic never factored in to people’s wedding planning before, it certainly didn’t stop these two from starting a new chapter as husband and wife!

The Everbloom Films team will be working photography at Rick and Brie’s larger reception in November, when hopefully restrictions will be lifted and more people can gather together! More photos to come in November!
